Amendments to the Workplace Safety and Health Regulation on Violence Prevention

New ISO Standard Improves Protective Clothing for Agricultural Farmers And Workers Using Pesticides
ISO 27065:2011, Protective clothing: Performance requirements for protective clothing worn by operators applying liquid pesticides, addresses the protection of farmers and workers mainly during the application phase of pesticides, i.e. the work phase where most operator contamination occurs.

Manitoba Employers Will Have to Report Workplace Violence
Posted July 6, 2011: All Manitoba employers will have to annually report on violent incidents to comply with upcoming changes to workplace safety legislation.
According to the Free Press, Labour Minister Jennifer Howard said the changes will take effect at the end of August.

Manitoba; Bill 20 (The Defibrillator Public Access Act) will Require Defibrillators to Be Installed in Many Public Spaces

This Standard provides guidelines for the commissioning of buildings and all related building systems, and has been developed to deal with buildings and/or their major systems as a whole, rather than as separate individual stand-alone components. Bill 4 Receives Royal Assent to Increase Workplace Fines
June 17, 2010, Manitoba Bill 4, The Workplace Safety and Health Amendment Act received royal assent and came into force the same day. The Bill increases the maximum fines that may be imposed on a person who is found guilty of contravening the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
